The back surfaces of Q.ANTUM solar cells are treated with a special coating that works like a mirror. Sunlight that would otherwise go to waste is reflected back through the cell to generate more electricity. This increases the efficiency of the cell, generating more electricity.
A 2% increase in power comes from shorter distances between the busbars and more paths for the electric current. More paths mean less congestion which reduces losses.
Halving the cell halves the current. Combined with a module layout which reduces distances travelled current gives an increase of power by 3%.
